a city of Italy, in the province of Calabria Citeriore, of the kingdom of Naples. It stands on the side of a hill, about one mile from the sea, and contains several churches and monasteries, 630 houses, and 4500 inhabitants, who are chiefly employed in making wine and oil, and in the manufacture of earthenware.
