a town and district of the Mahratta territories, in the province of Malwah, situated about the twelfth degree of north latitude. It is hilly, yet being watered by numerous branches of the Sopra and Gilly Sinde rivers, it is fertile and productive. The chief towns are Sarangpoor, Rajegur, and Sher.

capital of the above district, situated on the north side of the river Sopra, is fifty-five miles north-east from Ojain. Long. 76. 30. E. Lat. 23. 38. N.
