a large village of Irak in Arabia, on the western bank of the Euphrates. It is a flourishing place, and carries on a brisk trade with Bussora, the Euphrates being navigable to this place by means of large boats. It Shumsabad is surrounded by rich pastures; on which are reared numerous horses.
