or ADARE, an ancient town in Ireland, now reduced to a village. It is eight miles S.W. of Limerick, and has a fine old bridge over the river Maig.

ADAR is also the name of two counties in the United States of America; the first in Kentucky, with a population of 9917; the second in Missouri, with a population of 2351.
