the chief town of a district of the same name in the circle of Zwickau in Saxony. In 1849 the town contained 2829 inhabitants, and the district 18,737, of whom 18,604 were Lutherans, and the rest Romanists. Its chief manufactures are cottons, woollens, and musical instruments.
