deacon of the church at Constantinople, A.D. 527, was the author of a work on the Duties of Princes, which he presented to the emperor Justinian, who had been his pupil. This work, known as the Charta Regia, caused him to be ranked among the best writers of his age. It was translated into English by Thos Paynell in 1550.
