a well-built town of Mexico, in the province of Guadalaxara, containing about 500 families of Spanish descent, besides numerous others of mixed races. It takes its name from the hot-springs in its vicinity. The climate is fine, and the extensive and beautiful gardens surrounding the town produce abundance of olives, figs, grapes, &c. Much maize also is raised. It has a great cloth manufactory, and the general trade is considerable.
