a town of Belgium, capital of a canton of the same name, arrondissement and province of Namur, on the right bank of the Meuse, ten miles east of Namur. It is famous for its manufactures of porcelain and tobacco-pipes. In the neighbourhood are beds of pipe-clay, quarries of marble, and mines of iron and lead. Pop. in 1850, 5316.
