the wife of Hector, the mother of Astyanax, and daughter of Eetion king of Thebes in Cilicia. She is one of the noblest female characters in the Iliad. After the death of Hector and the destruction of Troy she became the property of Pyrrhus, and afterwards married Helenus the son of Priam, with whom she reigned over part of Epirus.
