a town of Sicily, situated on a hill, seven miles N.N.E. of Girgenti. It is ill-built, but has some curious antiquities, and an old castle containing a fine gallery of pictures. In its vicinity is the celebrated mud-volcano of Macalubia. Pop. 6500.
