The poets feign that Justice quitted heaven to reside on earth in the golden age; but growing weary of the iniquities of mankind, she left the earth and returned to heaven, where she took her place among the stars, and from her orb still looks down on the ways of men.

ASTRAGALOMANCY, a species of divination performed by throwing small pieces, with marks corresponding to the letters of the alphabet, the accidental disposition of which formed the answer required. This kind of divination was practised in a temple of Hercules in Achaea. The word is derived from ἀστραγάλων, and μαντεία.
