a river in the Venetian territory, which, rising in the mountains eastward of Trent, passes by Vicenza and Padua, and falls into the lagune of Venice below Este, after a course of 90 miles. It is navigable for large boats as far as Vicenza. It gave name to a province of Napoleon's Italian kingdom.
