Jayme Lucien, a Spanish ecclesiastic, eminent as a political writer and a philosopher, was born at Vich in Catalonia, on the 28th August 1810. He is the author of several able works, of which that entitled El Protestantismo Comparado con el Catolicismo en sus relaciones con la Civilización Europea, is the one on which his reputation chiefly rests. It has been translated into French, German, and English. This gifted and amiable man died at Vich, on the 9th July 1848.
