a market-town in the hundred of Burnham, county of Buckingham, 23 miles from London, on the road to Oxford. It consists of four streets crossing each other at right angles. This place is celebrated as the residence of the poet Waller and Edmund Burke; and both are buried here. Market-day Wednesday. Pop.in 1851, 1684.
