a place which appears to have lain near the plain of Esdraelon on the south, not far from Dothaim, and to have guarded one of the passes towards Jerusalem. Modern ecclesiastical tradition identifies Bethulia with Safed, near the lake of Genesareth, but Dr Robinson regards the site of Bethulia as still undetermined.
