a town of Württemberg, in the circle of the Danube, and capital of a bailiwick of the same name, 23 miles S.S.W. of Ulm. It is situated on the small river Riss, and has 5000 inhabitants, chiefly engaged in bleaching, weaving, and tanning. The bailiwick contains one city, four market-towns, 36 villages, and 26,224 inhabitants.
