a town of France, capital of a canton of the same name, in the department of Lower Seine, on the Bolbec, and on the railway from Paris to Havre, 18 miles E.N.E. of the latter. It is a handsome and flourishing manufacturing town; the streets are wide and well laid out, and the suburbs contain many neat houses. The principal manufacture is cotton; besides which it has woollen and linen factories, dye-works, and tanneries. Pop. 9000.
