in Latin Bossus, Matteo, distinguished by his virtue and his learning, was born at Verona in 1428. In 1451 he joined the congregation of regular canons of St John de Lateran; and he afterwards taught divinity at Padua. His orations, sermons, and letters, have often been printed; and he also wrote a sort of apology for Phalaris, and other works. He died at Padua in 1502.
