BOTTOMY

Volume 5 · 42 words · 1860 Edition

A cross bottomy, in Heraldry, terminates at each end in three buds, knots, or buttons, resembling in some measure the three-leaved grass; whence, in Seguin's Trisor Heraldique it is termed croix triflie. It is the badge of the order of St Maurice.
