in Ecclesiastical History, so called from their leader, Simon Budnæus, or Budny. They not only denied all kind of religious worship to Jesus Christ, but asserted that he was not conceived by virtue of any divine power. Budnæus was deposed from his ministerial office in 1584, and with his adherents publicly excommunicated; but afterwards renouncing this opinion, he was restored to the communion of the Socinian sect. Crelins ascribes the origin of the above opinion to Adam Neuser.
