a market-town in the middle division of the eastern hundred of Cornwall, 7 miles S.S.W. from Tavistock. It has an ancient parish church, and several dissenting places of worship. Callington formerly returned two members to parliament, but was disfranchised by the Reform act. Pop. of parish (1851) 2146.
