a mountain of Andalucia, in Spain, at the foot of which, towards the west, stands the town of Gibraltar. Its extreme length from north to south is 14,700 feet, or a little more than 2½ miles. It is nearly perpendicular on the east and north, and slopes rapidly to the west. Its greatest height is 1450 feet.
