a high and ornamental kind of candlestick or stand for lamps. The candelabra of the ancients were frequently very magnificent, combining exquisite design with admirable workmanship. They were generally made of bronze, but sometimes of marble, &c. Perhaps the finest collection of ancient candelabra is to be seen in the museum of the Vatican.
