PIETRO GIOVANNI, an eminent Genoese lawyer and historian, who died about the year 1660. He wrote a history of the wars of Italy, entitled Istoria sopra i Movimenti d'arme successi in Italia dell' Anno 1613 fino al 1646. 8vo, 2 parts, Genoa, 1644–1648; and a third part was afterwards published by his son. The whole work was translated into English by Henry Earl of Monmouth, 1663, folio.
