the ancient Ceba, a town in the kingdom of Sardinia, province and 10 miles east of Mondovi, at the confluence of the Cevetta with the Tanaro. It was formerly fortified; and the rock, at the foot of which lies the town, was surmounted by a citadel. Pop. 4000, chiefly employed in the manufacture of silk, and in iron works. It is noted for its cheeses, in which it has a considerable trade.
