or Chalcondyles, a Byzantine historian of the fifteenth century, who was present as the ambassador of John VII. (Palaeologus) during the siege of Constantinople, A.D. 1446. His history is divided into ten books, and contains many curious episodes in regard to the then condition of the European states, including descriptions of Germany and England.
