a town of France, department of Gers, and capital of a cognominal arrondissement, is situated on the Baise, which is here crossed by two stone bridges. The town itself is very irregularly built, but its suburbs are adorned with handsome villas. In the market square is a noble Gothic edifice, once the cathedral, but now reduced to the status of a parish church. Manufactures—cotton and woollen fabrics, and earthenware; its principal trade is in rural produce. Bossuet was bishop of Condom in 1669. Pop. 7027.
