Pietro Marcellino, a learned antiquary, was born at Sezza in 1658. He acquired the esteem and confidence of Clement XI., and afterwards of Innocent XIII., by whom he was made a cardinal. The works by which he is chiefly remembered are his Vetus Latium, profanum et sacrum, 2 vols. folio; and his History of Sezza, in 4to. He died at Rome in 1743.
