or MARKET-DEREHAM, a clean, well built, and pleasantly situated market-town of England, county of Norfolk, 16 miles W.N.W. of Norwich. The principal building is the parish church, an ancient cruciform edifice surmounted by a tower; and containing a rich antique font, many interesting relics, and a monument to the poet Cowper, who was interred here in 1800. The vicinity is highly cultivated, and has many gardens and orchards. Market-day Friday. Pop. (1851) 3372.
