JAMES, D.D. (1697-1761), an Irish Nonconformist divine, was born at Antrim. He studied at Glasgow, and was minister to a Dissenting congregation at Cambridge, Antrim, and Dublin, successively. He was the author of a series of discourses on the Presumptive Arguments for the Truth of Christianity. A selection from his other discourses was published posthumously in 1764.
