Sir GEORGE (1604-1689), an English physician, born at Sandwich in Kent. He received his medical degree at Padua; was afterwards president of the college of physicians in London; and received the honour of knighthood from Charles II. His principal work is a defence of his friend Harvey, entitled *Apologia pro Circulatione Sanguinis, contra Anatomiam Parisiensem*.
