(ἐπακτος, added), in Chronology, a term employed in the calendar to express the moon's age at the end of the year; or the excess of the solar month above the lunar synodical month, and of the solar year above the lunar year of twelve synodical months. See Calendar, vol. vi. p. 83, et seq.
