the son and successor of Sennacherib, king of Assyria. He is the Sacherdon or Sarchedon of Tobit, and the Asaradinus of Ptolemy's Canon. By Hales he is regarded as identical with the first Sardanapalus, and he is generally supposed to be the Asnapper of Ezra (iv. 10).
