in Law, signifies the title or interest which a person has in lands, tenements, or other effects. Real estate, called also heritable estate, consists generally in things immoveable, as lands, houses, &c., or in rights secured on these. Personal or moveable estate consists generally in things moveable, as money, household-furniture, ships, &c.
