a market-town of Gloucestershire, on the small river Colne, 23 miles E.S.E. of Gloucester, and 79 miles from London. It is noted for its parish church, a fine Gothic edifice erected about 1470, and having a remarkably fine series of painted windows. Pop. of parish (1851) 1859.
