the ancient Forum Sempronii, a town of the Papal States, legation of Urbino e Pesaro, situated on the Metauro, here backed by a handsome one-arched bridge, 7 miles E.S.E. of Urbino. The cathedral contains many good paintings and interesting inscriptions. In the vicinity, Asdrubal the brother of Hannibal was defeated and slain (207 B.C.) by the Romans.
