a royal city of Spain, in the province of Estremadura. It contains 5000 inhabitants, and is 48 miles S.E. of Badajoz. It stands at the foot of a chain of mountains, and is beautifully situated on an extensive and elevated plain, from which there extends a magnificent prospect in all directions. All kinds of fruit, grain, and vegetables abound around Fuente-Cantos; and the wine and water are of the best quality. The principal and almost the only manufacture is frieze.
