SANTA MARIA DE, a district of Spain in Galicia, province and bishopric of Mondofedo, and jurisdiction of Galdo. It contains 2180 inhabitants, and stands in the valley of Vivero, which extends from N. to S. to the banks of the river Landrove. Its agricultural productions and its industry are altogether similar to those of Vivero. See VIVERO.
