La, a town of Spain, province of Murcia, thirteen miles N.N.W. of Albacete, in a plain. It contains a parish church, two primary schools, a prison, and a court-house. La Gineta has manufactures of hempen and woollen cloth; and a trade in wine, oil, corn, rice, and salt fish. The market is weekly, and the population is nearly 3000.
