the ancient Natolium, a walled seaport-town of Naples, province of Bari, on a high rock projecting into the sea, 10 miles W.N.W. of Bari. It is a miserable looking place, with narrow and filthy streets. It is the seat of an archbishopric, and has a cathedral and several other churches, convents, hospitals, and an asylum for the maintenance and instruction in some useful art of foundlings, mendicants, &c.
