a town of Hungary, capital of a cognominal county, on the Sajo, 90 miles N.E. of Pesth. It has a gymnasium, with a good library, and museum; and some trade in wine and tobacco. Pop. 1050. The county of Gomor has an area of 1694 square miles, and contained in 1850 160,674 inhabitants.
