a village of England, county of Westmoreland, picturesquely situated at the head of the lake of the same name, 4 miles N.W. of Ambleside. In the burial ground adjoining the parish church are interred the remains of the poet Wordsworth. The lake of Grasmere is about a mile in length by half a mile in breadth, and is surrounded by mountains presenting beautiful scenery.
