or HAMAXOBITZ (ἀμαξοῦ, a carriage or chariot, and βίος, life), an ancient people of Sarmatia Europæa, who inhabited the southern part of Muscovy, and lived in tents made of leather and fixed on carriages, so as to be ready for travelling at all times.
