an edict of the Emperor Zeno, published A.D. 482, and intended to reunite the Eutychians with the Catholics. It was procured from the emperor by Acacius, patriarch of Constantinople; and was in the form of a letter, addressed by Zeno to the clergy and people of Egypt and Libya. As it contained a favourable mention of the council of Chalcedon, it was supposed to favour the Eutychian party; and after much opposition, was at length formally condemned by Pope Felix II.
