IRISH SEA is that part of the Atlantic lying between Great Britain and Ireland, between N. Lat. 51° 40' and 54° 30', and having St George's Channel on the S. and the North Channel on the N. It contains the Isles of Man and Anglesea, with Holyhead and some smaller islets.
