a town of Denmark, duchy of Holstein, on the Stör, 32 miles N.W. of Hamburg. As the river is navigable, the town carries on a considerable trade with Hamburg and other places. It has manufactures of tobacco, earthenware, leather, sugar, chicory, &c. Pop. about 5800.
