a town of Hungary, county of Pesth, 50 miles S.E. of Buda. It is irregularly built, in the midst of a level country, which breeds large numbers of horses and cattle. The cattle-market is the largest in Hungary. The inhabitants are chiefly employed in the rearing of livestock, and in the manufacture of wine, soap, and leather. Pop. (1851) 32,308.
