LANDSBERG

a town of Prussia, province of Brandenburg, and capital of a cognominal circle, situate on the Wartha, 37 miles N.E. from Frankfort. It has a small shipping trade; and its manufactures comprise chiefly woollen and linen cloths, hosiery, leather, and paper. It is fortified, and contains several handsome buildings. Pop. (1849) 12,630.
