a market-town of Hungary, county of Temesvar, on the left bank of the Maros, 30 miles N.E. from Temesvar. The inhabitants are chiefly engaged in agriculture, cattle-rearing, and the potteries, excellent clay being abundant in the vicinity. Some trade in grain, cattle, wine, honey, &c., is carried on. Pop. about 8000.
