a town of Italy, in the States of the Church, situated on the River San Angelo, a tributary of the Esina, 23 miles W.S.W. of Macerata. It is an old town, surrounded by walls, and contains several churches and convents. The inhabitants are chiefly occupied in the culti- vation of the neighbouring country, and in the manufacture of coarse woollen stuffs. Pop. 7270.
